Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant - Reviewed-Movies.blogspot

Thanks to an offer by American Express, I received two tickets to see a preview showing of Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant. It is based on the teen books written by Darren Shan.

This movie was thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining. The sets and costumes were colorful and enchanting. The characters were thoroughly played: the vampire, played by John C. Reilly, the protagonist, played by Chris Massoglia, and the supporting "Freaks" all contributed to a fanciful world that I wanted to spend more time within.

By the time the credits rolled around, I was hooked. I wanted more of the colors, more of the story, more of the characters, but I was not disappointed. I left the theater feeling satisfied, but looking forward to the next installment.
It makes for a great kids' movie and adults will enjoy it because its characters bring you back to your own childhood stories without talking juvenilizing the experience.

Score:
A- for entertainment.
